THE APPLEGATE ESTATE
Feature Film, Social Satire
A former reality tv star struggles to keep her grip on a deteriorating real estate empire, and a circus of sycophants competes to secure their own interests at any cost.
Five years ago, Linda Applegate fled from her family's prestigious Manhattan high-rise to hide away in East Hampton. She was most famously known for her reality TV series, "Sweet Success", which showcased her opulent lifestyle as a real estate heiress. With her husband William, she raised her step-daughter Vanessa, and their shared children, Anna and George.
Tragedy struck when George, still a child, drowned in the building’s pool. Later that year, William died in a drunk driving accident. Afterwards, Linda discovered that William had mismanaged her firm’s finances with an irresponsible loan. Overwhelmed with it all, she ran away, leaving Anna under the care of her brother and a revolving door of caregivers while Vanessa ran the company as COO.
But now, they are at risk of defaulting on the loan, and Linda must come back to face the music…
